On Monday, 2 October 2017 at 7.00 p.m., exhibition THE GIFT OF SLOVENIAN ARCHITECTURE: EDVARD RAVNIKAR will open in the Historical Atrium of Ljubljana’s Town Hall, which we mounted in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Ljubljana. The exhibition will be open until 16 October 2017.
Collection of souvenirs and corporate gifts THE GIFT OF SLOVENIAN ARCHITECTURE: EDVARD RAVNIKAR is the third in a row; it was created in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana. It was designed by 1st and 2nd year students enrolling in the post-graduate study programme in Industrial Design under the supervision of Prof. Vladimir Pezdirc, Assist. Prof. Lidija Pritržnik, and Assoc. Prof. Jure Miklavc. The work featured lectures by Prof. Nataša Koselj, architect Majda Kregar and Prof. Saša Mächtig. The exhibited souvenirs and corporate gifts were created at a seminar held between 12 October and 23 November 2017 at the Department for Industrial Design and Applied Arts (ALUO). This resulted in more than 25 projects, which explored, in an original and witty way, Edvard Ravnikar’s rich heritage. The thoughtful works show the wide range of expressive potential of design, the power of communication, and the transfer of symbolic values into useful products.
